British Council made a big announcement at the Going Global Asia Pacific Conference

On 29 November 2022, the British Council has announced the official launch of Alumni UK at the opening ceremony of its Going Global Asia Pacific 2022 conference in Singapore. Alumni UK is a global network of international UK higher education alumni. The British Council is hosting the first regional version of its flagship Global Higher Education conference in Singapore, as well as celebrating 75 years of its presence in the city-state.

All international UK alumni who have spent at least one term at a UK higher education institution, including international education and online education, are invited to join the Global Alumni Network, where registration is free.

How can UK alumni help you?

By joining Alumni UK, individuals can grow their professional network and connect with people from all over the world who have studied at a UK university. In addition to building professional connections, the network aims to bring people together to collaborate on tackling global challenges. As part of the free Alumni UK exclusive network, it provides access to programs and training organized at a local, regional and global level.

Alumni will have the opportunity to learn from senior leaders and industry experts on a regular basis. By becoming part of the Alumni UK network, people can strengthen their ties to the UK and improve their English language skills.

Alumni UK was launched at Eden Hall, the official residence of the British High Commissioner in Singapore, and was attended by over 300 invitees including Sir Steve Smith, UK Government International Education Champion, leading UK higher education alumni from the Asia-Pacific region Had taken.

Since the soft launch of Alumni UK in February 2022, 8,000 international UK higher education alumni from over 100 countries have expressed their interest in joining UK alumni.

In February 2023, the British Council will host its first Alumni UK online festival. It will bring together thousands of international UK higher education alumni to take part in a range of professional development programs and activities over a two-week period.

Over the next year, the British Council will also hold special alumni engagement programs in countries around the world including Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. Will organize
