DU i.e. Delhi University is the famous university of Delhi, under which about 16 colleges of Delhi come. Delhi University is a recognized university as well as a well-known name in the world. What is DU JAT?

DU JAT is a national level Delhi University Joint Admission Test, which is conducted by NTA. If you appear for DU JAT exam, you can get admission in the following courses offered by 16 colleges of DU –

  • Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)
  • BA (Hons) in Business Economics
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis)


In order to appear in DU JAT exam, you need to fulfill the following requirements –

  • General category candidate must have minimum 60% marks in class XII.
  • Candidates belonging to SC, ST, CW or PWD categories must have minimum 60% marks in class XII.
  • Any other backward class students should have minimum 54% marks.
  • The base percentage will be calculated on the student’s marks in the following 4 subjects –
  1. English
  2. mathematics
  3. List of Optional Subjects in DU UG Admission Bulletin Any two subjects from B.
  4. Students who have not obtained class XII results can also apply for DU JAT.

DU JAT Syllabus 2022 is divided into four parts, let’s have a look at it –

Exam Pattern

DU JAT is a computer-based multiple choice test in which students will have to answer 100 questions in 2 hours. The paper is divided into the following 4 sections –

  • quantitative ability
  • general awareness
  • general english
  • Reasoning and Analytical Ability

Each section consists of 25 questions. For every correct answer students get 3 marks, and for every wrong answer, one mark is deducted. This process is called negative marking.

DU JAT Result

  • The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates.
  • Colleges of Delhi University combine 65 percent of the entrance exam and 35 percent of class XII marks.
  • After the declaration of DU JAT result, the university will publish its merit list after which candidates can apply according to their rank/percentage.
  • The University of Delhi has implemented the method of DU JAT normalization to measure the score of the students so that there is no profit or loss to any student.
  • After normalizing the candidate’s scores, scores are obtained using the equal-marginal form: equal-percentile score = {[(एक शिफ्ट में आवेदको की कुल संख्या) – (एक शिफ्ट में उम्मीदवार का स्कोर)] / (Total Applicants ) -1)} x 100
  • The rank is prepared after the final normalization process.

admission process

The procedure for DU JAT exam is explained in the steps given below –

  • registration of exam The registration process of DU JAT 2022 has two phases wherein the candidate has to first provide basic information like name, email id, contact number and personal and academic details by logging in with their registered email id and password.
  • get admit card You can download the admit card by entering your form number and date of birth. Applicants must carry the admit card to the exam centre.
  • taking an exam – DU JAT 2022 will be conducted in computer based mode for two hours in which applicants are asked questions on Quantitative Aptitude, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, General English and General Awareness.
  • answer key Candidates can download the question paper and answer key from the official website of NTA and file their objections or challenges by paying Rs 200 for each answer.
  • Result Applicants can check their results on the official website of NTA. The rank will be given to the candidates on the basis of the average marks obtained during the entrance test and the total marks obtained in class XII, on the basis of which the final merit list will be prepared.
  • counseling process There may be multiple rounds of counseling process depending on the seat availability. Candidates are allotted seats in a specific college on the basis of their rank and interest as per the availability of vacant seats. Along with this, there will be online record verification and confirmation of admission. The documents uploaded by the candidate are scrutinized by the designated authorities. The status of their application will be shown on the dashboard of the applicants.
  • admissionCandidates who have been accepted for admission on the UG admission portal will have a link on their dashboard through which they will have to apply for college/course fee. Candidates will have to pay the fee and save the payment slip within 24 hours after the admission is approved. Fee will be collected online only through this portal.
