Like- Tulsi = T + U + A + A + S + E, edge = Q + E + N + A + A + A etc.

definition of split

Character-separation means separating characters. The process of writing a word (meaningful group of letters) separately is called syllables.

First of all it is necessary to know that how many types of characters are there?

There are two types of characters –
1) vowel
2) Cuisine

This means that we have to separate the words which are the set of letters in alphabetical order.

In other words – to separate a vowel or a consonant is varna-break. For this, it becomes very necessary for us to know the quantities of vowels (vowel marks). The volumes of vowels are as follows –

While breaking the vowel, we have to identify the quantities of vowels and in place of that quantity, that vowel (A, A, E, E etc.) is used which has that quantity.

Example – Quantification of the word fund will be – n + n + d + n
The letter breaking of the word Nidhi will be – N + E + D + E

On breaking the syllable of the word Kumar – q + u + m + m + r + a is obtained and when the same word is broken up, then q + u + m + aa + r + a is obtained.

Vocal volume (vocal mark) Example
a It has no quantity. Pomegranate, Python, Achkan, Hot
Come common, work, name, car, nose
I Tamarind, Fort, Raisin, Farmer, Book
E wood, goat, girl, drink
u bridge, hear, earring, you, rat
oo flower, radish, vase, sun, milk
r sage, nectar, earth, deer, circle
a Country , Banana , Lion , Tabela , Tree , Cargo
aye money, like, foot, ready, field
O! lotus , fat , small , cap , round , peacock
and Death, Present, Weather, Silence, Wealth

Important points of separation

Some important points about the separation of characters are given below:

1. Arrangement of Halant Symbol

The vowel ‘A’ is found in all the consonant letters of our alphabet. Therefore, a separate mark has not been made for ‘A’ vowel. Yes, whenever a consonant has to be shown as vowelless, the mark of ‘Halant’ is put under it.

Like- M = M + A,
a=q+a,
L = L + A etc.

Therefore, while breaking the alphabet, you must put ‘Halant’ under each consonant letter.

While breaking the letter, write independent vowel letter in place of the quantity sign that comes in the word. For example, the letter-breaking of the word ‘Dhani’ will be ‘Dh+A+N+E’ and not Dh+Na+Ni.

2. Splitting of Combined Consonants

(Characters separation)-

You already know that in composite consonants the first letter is incomplete, such as ‘pp’, ‘chha’ etc. But while breaking the letters, write these incomplete letters in full form; Like – Ky = Q + Y + A’, Ft = F + T + A, N = N + N + A etc.

3. The separation of the combined forms of the consonant-

You know that there are three letters to write ‘R + Consonant’ together – R [र्]And [/] , But while breaking the letters, instead of all the signs of ‘r’, write only ‘r’ character: eg night = r + aat + a, sequence = k + k + a + m + a, love = p +R+A+M+A etc.

4. Break-up of words containing anusvara-

You already know that the point for reconciliation [ ं] The sign has been created. Write the word ‘Anuswar’ for Anuswar while breaking the vowel. Do not put a dot above the vowel letter; like-

Hindi = H+E+Anuswar+D+E,
Ganga = G + A + Anusar + G + Aa,
Samsara = S + A + Anusara + S + Aa + A + A
Destruction = S + A + Anusara + H + A + A + A

5. Characterization of words containing nasal –

You already know that nasalized is a ‘Nasalized Vowel’. Two marks have been made for this – point [ं] and moon point [ ॅ]

At the time of dissection of nasal words, write the nasal vowels in the same form by applying Chandrabindu and Bindu, such as-

storm = aa + dh + e
high = oh + ch + aa
Bhang = Bh + Aan + G + A
tail = p + um + ch + a
cinch = s + e + ch + a
dent = s + y + d + a

6. Break-up of words containing the combined consonants ‘Q’, ‘Tra’, ‘J’ and ‘Shr’-

Source – Learn Hindi Grammar

You have been told about the combined consonants ‘Ksh’, ‘Tra’, ‘J’ and ‘Shr’ that they have been composed according to the following description – Ksh = K + Sh, Tra = T + R,

J = J + J and Sh + Sh + R. Like other consonants, there is an ‘A’ vowel in their letters, so they will be divided into those classes from which they are composed;

like-

Raksha = R + A + K + X + Aa
alms = bh + e + q + s + aa
travel = y + aa + t + r + aa
friend = m + e + t + r + a
command = aa + j + j + aa
Pledge = p + p + a + t + e + j + j + aa
Labor = Sh + C + A + M + A
mr = sh + r + e + m + aa + na + a

While breaking the letters of the words containing the visarga, write the visarga like anusvara with the word ‘Visarga’; like-
Auto = S + V + A + T + A + Visarga
Prana = p + p + aa + t + visarga
Matih = M + A + T + E + Visarga
Sadhuh = s + aa + dh + u + visarga

Important things related to the separation of characters

  • In written language, words are made up of letters. Therefore, to know the composition of words, those letters from which the words are made are shown separately. Separating the letters of a word is called dissection.
  • It is very important to know from which letters the word is composed for breaking the alphabet.
  • The correct pronunciation of words should be carefully listened to for the separation of alphabets and then self-pronunciation should be done. Knowledge of spelling rules is also necessary for Varn Viched in Hindi.
  • We have two types of vowels here – to write the vowel independently – a, aa, e, e, u, oo etc. It’s called ‘quantity’. While breaking the vowels, vowel sounds are written as independent vowel letters.
  • While dissecting the words containing Anuswar and Visarga, only Anuswar and Visarga should be written for these two consonant sounds and not ‘an’ or aah.
  • At the time of dissection of nasal words, the nasal vowels are written along with their signs (bindus) or Chandrabindu.
